News - 2021 at Alchemy Virtual Assistance

How will you remember 2021?
I think that no matter how hard it is or how bleak things seem, we always have a choice to see hope or chaos. Whilst there's still so much loss and uncertainly, this year I've certainly felt it's been easier to feel hopeful.
I know I’ll look back on 2021 with fondness, awe and gratitude for many things but most significantly, for the incredible people I have around me.
The people who always wholeheartedly lean into ‘hope’, who choose to dig deep and remain positive, those who operate with such grit and grace. Those individuals who despite their own personal battles always choose kindness and offer support.
By this, I mean the entire Alchemy Virtual Assistant family; from our incredible franchisees (and their own growing Virtual Assistant teams) to our inspirational and entrepreneurial clients across the globe. Our brilliant support team at Head Office, all our trusted suppliers and our wider and much respected local business communities too.
People aside, statistics are another thing that make my world go around. Each December, Paul (our Managing Director) and I conduct a deep, holistic review of our business. Usually over a bottle of fizz and box of really good chocolates during the Christmas break. But this year, we felt the calling to do this important activity early so we could properly ‘switch off’ over Christmas and spend some quality time with our families as well as adjusting to life with a newborn again!
Here are some of the highlights and observations we made together from 2021...
We started 2021 with 8 amazing people in our business. We will close the year with 16 people in the Alchemy Virtual Assistant franchise family.
This year we celebrated our 5th business birthday and found great joy in sending all our wonderful clients (and Virtual Assistant family) bespoke branded Alchemy VA biscuits as a token of our gratitude and appreciation.
Because Alchemy VA would simply not exist without them.
We’re immensely proud to have opened Virtual Assistant Franchise Hubs in the East Midlands, London and Scotland.
The new year will bring several more opening across the UK and I can’t wait to reveal more about the utterly brilliant and courageous people behind them in due course.
We’ve empowered our growing (now global) client base in many ways this year but most significantly in the time we've created for them through our award-winning, professional virtual assistant services.
Collectively, the Alchemy Virtual Assistant family have created almost 500 extra working days for our clients in 2021!
That means that we've generated almost two extra years for our phenomenal clients as there's only approximately 256 working days in the average year!
We’ve also donated many trees to be planted in the stunning Scottish Highlands in a new campaign launched to honour and celebrate Laura - our first franchisee to lay Alchemy roots in Scotland. We now donate a tree for every new client we welcome.
We’ve also been shortlisted in six business award programmes on local and national levels!
We’ve been on the radio, guests on podcasts and I’ve had the absolute pleasure of writing articles, being interviewed or speaking for many leading publications and brands including Elite Franchise, the BBC, Candy Kittens® the Homeworker Magazine and Global Business Woman Magazine.
Our good news stories throughout the year have been shared in so many wonderful news outlets and media sites. Oh and did I mention the time I was quizzed on my top 'being organised tips' for Huffington Post? :)
I also wrote and self-published my second book and started work on my third. I can't wait to reveal more about this personal passion project in due course...
Lifelong learning is of critical importance to us. It's one of our core values. We’ve held four online franchisee family development days, an in person Alchemy summer social and we have invested countless hours into our personal and professional development.
People are at the heart of Alchemy VA and as a brand new year draws ever near, my heart is full with anticipation and excitement for the wonderful people we will empower, support and guide through great transformations on wild adventures towards their personal definition of success.
Thank you for helping me reflect on 2021 and for being part of our great adventure. All that’s left for me to do now is to send my very warmest wishes to you and yours.
