Laura lives just outside of Glasgow, Lanarkshire with her son Lucas and Koa the dog. When she's not creating more hours in the day for her clients she can be found travelling, adventuring, exploring with her dearest friends and family.

Snapshot Career History:
Laura has a degree in business and her first ever job was working as a conference and banqueting waitress for a local hotel. Since then she's built up a vast wealth and breadth of experience in her career from her first university summer job in the recruitment industry. Laura started as receptionist, trained as a recruitment consultant and subsequently moved roles (and cities) to manage corporate accounts before moving back home to manage in-house recruitment for Lloyds TSB's branch network in Scotland.
Then Laura went on to join her local police force. She started ‘on the beat’ before moving into Community Policing having responsibility for a specific community. From there she moved to a proactive team who mainly dealt with drugs offences and anti-social behaviour. She then transferred into an intelligence department, where she assessed and disseminated intelligence to relevant internal and external partners and strengthened intelligence through research.
Being in the police force really helped Laura hone her attention to detail and resilience, usually working under great pressure to tight deadlines. She was also responsible for a lot of report writing, preparing and presenting briefing papers, compiling reports and conducting thorough research.
Administration work has always formed a strong backbone throughout her career.
Before joining the Alchemy Virtual Assistant family, Laura was a Project Coordinator spending a lot of her time liaising with a variety of stakeholders from large retail customers to manufacturers, flexing her Microsoft Excel skills, handling invoicing and purchasing as well as taking care of social media, website maintenance and email management all with the best customer experience in mind.
Laura doesn't like movies as she doesn't have the patience to watch anything for more than two hours! Laura's all time favourite is her mum’s shepherds pie. She also loves Mexican food, notably nachos and fajitas - two of the few things she can “cook”!

Melanie has a degree from Penn State University in Business Management, with an emphasis in Human Resources. She has been able to utilise her degree in the field of Human Resources Management and Corporate Recruiting, giving her over 10 years of experience. Throughout her career, administrative tasks have always been her favourite. She is a keen researcher, especially when it comes to travel, and always pays attention to the details.
Having lived abroad for many years, Melanie understands the value of maintaining relationships and making new connections. As a Virtual Assistant with Alchemy, Melanie has been able to refine these skills for many clients, taking over administrative responsibilities which allow the small businesses she supports to focus on their growth.
In her free time, Melanie enjoys putting her research to use on herself and travelling with her husband and two boys. She is also known to be found running the local trails or playing tennis with friends. Given her love for cooking and eating, she likes to balance that out with staying as active as possible.
Kaeli Cowling - Virtual Assistant
Kaeli has extensive experience in both marketing and administration, having worked in a variety of fields. This variety has enabled Kaeli to build a wealth of knowledge, with over 8 years in marketing and 10 years in administrative tasks.
Kaeli enjoys getting involved in projects of all kinds, having upskilled in a number of different areas in each of the roles she has undertaken.
Kaeli has managed data, insight and performance, built and presented large scale briefs with agencies, tested different digital platforms, created and executed full year marketing plans, overseen content creation and much more.
