Virtual Assistant Services UK

How will you remember 2020?

I think that no matter how hard it is or how bleak things seem, we always have a choice to see hope or chaos. As the most turbulent year any of us have ever experienced draws to a close, I know I’ll look back on this extraordinary time with fondness and gratitude for many things but most significantly, for the incredible people I have around me.

The people who have wholeheartedly leaned into ‘hope’, who have dug deep to remain positive, those who have innovated with such speed, passion and resilience. Those individuals who expressed kindness and offered support.

By this, I mean the entire Alchemy Virtual Assistant family; from our incredible franchisees to our inspirational and entrepreneurial clients. Our brilliant team at Head Office, all our trusted suppliers and our wider and much respected business communities.

These people have made an utterly ridiculous year, memorable in all the right ways.

People aside, statistics are another thing that make my world go around. Each December, Paul (our Operations and Finance Director) and I conduct a deep, holistic review of our business. Usually over a bottle of fizz and box of posh chocolates during the Christmas break. But this year, we felt the calling to do this important activity early so we could properly ‘switch off’ over Christmas and spend some quality time with our families.

Here are some of the highlights and observations we made together from 2020 - the year that coronavirus changed the world:
Virtual PA
We started 2020 as a brand new Virtual Assistant Franchise with three people in our business. We will close the year with 9 amazing people in the immediate Alchemy Virtual Assistant family.

We’ve empowered our growing client base with quadruple figures, in terms of hours of professional virtual assistant support. We’ve also donated over 15 working days to support local charities.

We’ve been shortlisted in six business award programmes on local, regional and national levels.

We’ve been on the radio (twice), prime time evening BBC news (twice). I’ve had the absolute pleasure of writing articles (or being interviewed ) for four leading publications including PA Life and the Homeworker Magazine.

I also wrote and self-published my first book and started work on my second.

Our good news throughout the year has been shared in over 20 news outlets and media sites and we even made an appearance in The Times!

We’ve held three online franchisee team development days and have invested countless hours in our collective personal and professional development. We’ve also gifted around 8% of our turnover to our people as an expression of our gratitude for all their hard work, grit and commitment during such demanding and uncertain times.

I’m immensely proud of our all collective achievements, which are no mean feat under 'normal' circumstances. This year has taught us all to be a little kinder, much more grateful, to think and act more creatively, to give and do what we can for ourselves and others.
Virtual Assistant Services - Midlands
People are at the heart of Alchemy VA and as a brand new year draws ever near, my heart is full with anticipation and excitement for the wonderful new people we will welcome into our family run Virtual Assistant company with open arms in 2021.

Thank you for helping me reflect on 2020. All that’s left for me to do now is to send my very warmest wishes to you and yours. May your festive season be abundantly joyful.

With love,

Suzy
