Alchemy VA’s Laura raises thousands for Meningitis Now
Laura Barley, who heads up Alchemy VA in Glasgow, has raised over £2,300 for Meningitis Now in memory of her husband Euan. Euan tragically lost his life to meningitis in 2016 leaving behind Laura and their one year old son Lucas.
September 2022 marks what would have been Laura & Euan’s tenth wedding anniversary. Laura chose to channel her energy into something positive putting on a night to remember in the stunning Grand Ballroom in the Redhurst Hotel.
The event, hosted by Glasgow local radio star Gina McKie, attracted a lot of positive attention and was a magnificent success raising vital funds and awareness of adult meningitis.
Laura is no stranger to organising events and fund raising. Previous charitable efforts including having raised £22k with friends for charity walking the Great Wall of China.
“Raising awareness of meningitis, particularly in adults, is just as important to me as raising funds. It's not in many people's awareness that meningitis can affect adults. Meningitis Now carry out vital research, campaigning and support work all contributing to their vision of a future where no one in the UK loses their life to meningitis."
