Scottish Gala Dinner 2026: Supporting Meningitis Now
Throughout 2026 Alchemy VA's remarkable Franchise Partners have been working on some incredible initiatives to give more back to their local communities to mark our tenth year in business.
With more initiatives and events still to come, so far this year we’ve collectively raised over £3,000 for charitable causes close to our hearts.
We’ve done this through a marathon distance walk across the North West of the UK to raise funds for CODYS (a youth theatre group in Warrington) a 400 ft abseil challenge to raise funds for The Lewis Foundation (spreading happiness to adult cancer patients across the midlands) and bringing the Northampton business community together for a big quiz night in aid of Warwick and Midlands Air Ambulance.
The autumn will bring yet another memorable and meaningful event - a Scottish Gala Dinner in aid of Meningitis Now taking place on 4th September 2026 at the Moulsdale Foundation, Glasgow.
Hosted by local DJ Gina McKie, the Gala promises to be a glittering celebration complete with a drinks reception, three course meal, live music, entertainment, raffle, auction and a guest appearance from racing duo Barry and Jimmy Sime - who’ll be doing a live Q&A.
As well as aiming to promote the charity Meningitis Now in Scotland the event also falls on the charity's 40th anniversary year and has a deeply personal and poignant purpose for our Franchise Partner Laura Barley.
Laura’s main objective for joining the supporting team who are creating this wonderful event together is to create awareness of the illness, so the tragic loss of her husband Euan, over ten years ago, isn’t repeated in other families.
Devastatingly, Euan’s meningitis symptoms weren’t recognised until it was too late. An absolutely heart breaking situation for anyone to face. So, please do take a few seconds to familiarise yourself with meningitis symptoms in both adults and children here. It might just save a life.
Laura and her son, alongside many family and friends, have taken part in lots of fundraising events and activities over the past 10 years. Raising in excess of £25,000 for Meningitis Now so far. You can read more about Laura’s story here.
If you’re not able to attend in person, there is an option to purchase ‘pay it forward’ tickets to be donated to those whose lives have been affected by meningitis.
